Biography

Pathology Laboratory, a Sonic Healthcare anatomic pathology practice is privileged to include Alero Fregene Inyang, M.D., as a member of our medical staff. Dr. Inyang has extensive hospital and professional experience with an impressive academic and research background.

Dr. Inyang graduated with class honors from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor with a Bachelor of Science degree in biology. Here, she also received her medical degree and was inducted into the Golden Key National Honor Society.

Dr. Inyang served a four-year general surgery residency at the Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, Michigan. She later completed a three-year anatomic pathology residency at the University of Michigan, where she subsequently finished a bone and soft tissue fellowship and a selective surgical pathology fellowship. She went on to complete a genitourinary pathology fellowship.

During her academic training, Dr. Inyang participated in several research projects. She twice served as a Research Assistant at the University of Michigan, first in the Department of Immunology, then in the General Surgery Department. Here, she later completed a research fellowship in the Craniofacial Research Laboratory involving plastics surgery, followed by another research fellowship in the Biomedical Engineering Laboratory of the School of Dentistry.

Upon completing her postgraduate training, Dr. Inyang worked as a General Pathologist at the South West Georgia Pathology Associates in Albany for several years. She has worked with Aurora Diagnostics Pathology Laboratory since 2017.

Dr. Inyang is a member of three professional medical organizations, including the International Society of Bone and Soft Tissue Pathology. She holds full medical licensure in the states of Michigan and Ohio, and she is board certified in anatomic pathology by the American Board of Pathology.

The results of Dr. Inyang’s research have been published as articles and abstracts in peer-reviewed medical journals. She has also given several oral and poster presentations at national and international medical conferences.
